      Yes, diamonds can be burned, as they are primarily composed of carbon, which is combustible. However, it requires high temperatures, typically around 1562°F (850°C) or higher, and sufficient oxygen. At these temperatures, a diamond will not melt, but it will oxidize, forming carbon dioxide and potentially carbon monoxide if oxygen is limited.
