Question: I have been trying to look for the end of my nail on my hand but I have not seen any hard thing like nail .how do nails get to grow and yet we cut them
How did you think about this 😂😂, you must be very very curious , I like you
Your nails grow from a hidden “nail-making factory” under your skin called the nail root — it’s right behind that little white half-circle at the base of your nail (called the lunula).
This nail root keeps pushing out new nail cells, and as they move forward, they die and harden — that’s what forms the hard nail you see!
So even when you cut your nails, you’re only trimming the dead part. The living part is still under your skin, working like a machine, slowly growing more nail — about 0.1 mm a day!
It’s like grass: you can mow it, but it keeps growing from the ground!
