      Frank Herzegh, working for B.F. Goodrich, is credited with inventing the first successful tubeless tire. He applied for a patent in 1946, and it was eventually granted in 1952. While other tubeless tire designs had been explored earlier, Herzegh’s design is considered the first to be commercially viable.
