Birds and bees both consume nectar, but only bees process it into honey because of their specific physiological and social adaptations. Bees have a complex process of nectar processing involving enzymes, fanning, and storage in honeycombs to create a shelf-stable food source for long-term survival, particularly during winter. Birds, on the other hand, lack these adaptations and simply consume nectar for immediate energy.
